Celebrating Chanukah

Telfed, together with its housing company ISRENTCO, held their annual Chanukah parties for the residents of their buildings in Tel Aviv (Amishav Street) and Ra’anana (Schwartz Street).

On the second night of Chanukah, the residents gathered in the newly constructed “Moadon Le’Oleh” (Clubhouse) in the renovated bomb shelter of the “Tower Building” on 27 Amishav Street. This previously unused section of the building has been transformed into two beautiful rooms, to be fitted with a sound system, projector, screen and amenities that will enable the residents to hold regular cultural activities in the building. “Chanukah celebrates the rededication of the Temple, 2000 years ago. Today we celebrate the first usage of our new Moadon Le’Oleh. Although an official dedication ceremony will be held once all the construction is completed, it is significant that the Moadon’s first use is during the festival of Chanukah” said Dorron Kline, Telfed’s CEO, at the opening of the party.

The Chanukah candle-lighting at both buildings was accompanied by singing and dancing to Chanukah songs, children’s activities, and sumptuous “Sufganiyot” (doughnuts). At the Schwartz Street building on the third night of Chanukah, the children were also treated to a “pass-the-parcel” game with great prizes, organised by resident Michal Kaplan.

The sugar coated smiles that accompanied the warmth of the Chanukah lights will certainly see us through the upcoming cold and hopefully wet winter.

Special thanks to Telfed staff members Dafna Rosenberg and Dana Ben Chail for organising the happy gatherings and to Russell Abel, ISRENTCO Project and Maintenance Manager, for the work undertaken to ensure that the Amishav Moadon Le’Oleh would be ready for our use on Chanukah.
