Cape Town Ties

Members of Telfed’s Directorate with Philip and Michele Krawitz (centre)

During the summer, Telfed welcomed Chairman of the Board of the United Jewish Campaign, Philip Krawitz and his wife, Michele to the Raanana offices.

The visit provided an opportunity to ‘share notes’ and keep up to date on community news in Cape Town, including some of the specific challenges being addressed by the local Jewish leadership (including the BDS movement, water shortage, political uncertainty, economic depression and diminishing Hebrew studies in the day school system).

Members of the Directorate in attendance absorbed Philip’s message, understanding that this could result in time in increased Aliyah, depending on how things play out. “This is going to be a challenging decade for Telfed, more than ever – and you are ideally placed to assist our community members if they will want to consider their options in Israel” he concluded.

Telfed is pleased to enjoy a strong partnership and warm ties with our Capetonian counterparts.  We look forward to our continued amicable association, serving our SA community members in the Cape and in Israel.
