What makes Telfed’s PRAS programme special and exceptional?
The PRAS scholarship programme is unique in the field of educational scholarships. Offered to students pursuing studies in Israeli tertiary level institutions, the PRAS programme allows students to engage with the community and to develop their skills outside the classroom.
The volunteering energies of the participants are primarily focussed within the klitah sector. In aiding olim, students are not only making a difference on a personal level, but also providing support for this important Zionist endeavour. Student volunteers aim to facilitate integration, reduce the difficulties faced by this sector, and eliminate the incidences of failed immigration and absorption .
Usually, a student will give three hours of their time per week during the academic year, to assist Olim (immigrants) in various ways. The first step is invariably to identify the needs of each recipient, and the ways in which the student can best help in each individual situation. The Telfed staff make every effort to match students and families/individuals according to location and personal preferences in order to make each partnership a success.
