Artistic reflections from Lithuania

On Sunday 27 May, Telfed's Netanya Regional Committee invited the community to a fascinating presentation on the perception of the Holocaust by Lithuanian high school students.

The audience was introduced to this work through an audio-visual presentation. One member of the audience said that the presentation was 'very interesting and very professional'. These talented students were given a forum for communicating their artistic interpretation of their home country's disturbing past.

Presented by Abel and Glenda Levitt, the audience was impressed with the talent and insight shown by the students, who used art as a medium to understand the atrocities of the Holocaust.

The history of Lithuanian Jewry is pertinent to many in our community. The Levitts are working to erect memorial walls with the names of Jews in mass graves in Plunge and Birz, Lithuania.
