Dear Student,                                                      

You are applying for a study bursary from funds that have been donated by the Southern African public to assist students residing and studying in Israel.

This application will go before a committee consisting of representatives of the Southern African community in Israel and your application will be considered according to our internal point system.

For a number of years Telfed has successfully run the PRAS Community Programme. Telfed’s aim is to encourage all students to participate in the PRAS programme. 

PRAS students have successfully assisted the ex- Southern African community in Israel and have facilitated the betterment of Israeli Society. The students have tutored children, accompanied the elderly and worked with people with special needs.

Students, who participate in the PRAS programme during the months November until June, volunteer 3 hours per week within the community. In appreciation they receive a bursary of NIS 4,500.

 The Telfed study bursaries are made up of two components:

1)      A financial aid bursary, which is dependent on the socio-economic level of the applicant

2)      A PRAS bursary, which is dependent on applicant’s suitability to the PRAS programme.

 Students who are only interested in PRAS without the financial bursary do not need to enclose financial documentation.

Final date for acceptance of application forms: 15th September 2011

        The form MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL (INCOMPLETE FORMS WILL NOT BE          CONSIDERED).

         Applications may only be made for post high school studies.

The bursary is for ONE ACADEMIC YEAR ONLY, but may be renewed.
