70 S.A. Olim arrive on latest group flight

Telfed staff and volunteers once again were on hand to greet and assist the 70 new Olim who arrived on 29 December 2009 Israel Centre Group Flight from South Africa. Telfed Chairman Maish Isaacson met the Olim as they disembarked from the plane in the early morning. They were then bussed to the Jerusalem Ramada Renaissance Hotel for their Klita Fair, where they were greeted by Telfed staff and Regional Committee volunteers.

The Telfed booth at the Klita Fair was kept very busy, assisting the Olim with all their Klita questions and needs. After lunch the Olim attended a very moving ceremony, when the South African Olim received their Israeli ID books from Telfed director, Sid Shapiro.

Natan Sharansky, Chairman of the Jewish Agency personally welcomed the Olim and reminisced of his Aliyah 23 years ago when he and his wife spent their first Pesach together in Israel at the same Ramada Renaissance Hotel.
