Beth Protea update

Are you looking for information regarding the rights of Senior Citizens
in Israel and are not sure where to go!
For easy access to reliable information – Beth Protea’s special social
service “PROTEA PLUS” can provide you with all the answers.
PROTEA PLUS, a non-profit Advisory and Counseling Service was established
as a response to the many queries Beth Protea Retirement Home was receiving
from senior Anglo Saxons and their families – both in Israel and abroad.
The many enquiries outlined the fact that numerous Anglo Saxons who had
chosen to live their lives in Israel were often unaware of the rights they are
entitled to and the facilities available to meet their needs.
Furthermore, Senior Citizens often have to deal with many different government
and local authorities. These encounters can cause great confusion and often
result in one feeling threatened by the complexity and impersonal nature of
the bureaucratic establishments that in fact have the means to help.
Taking help is often a necessity rather than a choice and one can be acutely
sensitive of becoming just a “number” and having his/her once private,
independent life transformed into a “public affair” or social case. For Anglo
Saxons, issues like these are often exacerbated by being in a foreign country
with a foreign language, leaving one feeling illiterate, bewildered, frustrated
and helpless.
PROTEA PLUS aims to alleviate the struggles Senior Anglo Saxons and their
families may encounter by providing a listening ear and assisting on both a
practical and supportive level.
This unique service is manned by a qualified social worker who welcomes
the queries, problems and issues that are faced by senior citizens daily
and strives to deal with them with the dignity, respect and sensitivity that they
deserve. Professional counseling is offered and in special circumstances,
home visits are conducted.
Our updated information consists of all the services available to Senior’s in
different parts of Israel. It enables us to promptly tap into the appropriate
resources required.
