CHILDREN'S LIBRARY AT MEIR HOSPITAL IN MEMORY OF JASON BERNSTEIN

Dear Family and Friends,

The beginning of February next year marks one year since Jason (my sweets) was taken away from me, Mika, his parents, family and friends.

To commemorate his passing I have been working closely with the company where Jason worked, Servertronix, to set up a memorial in his honour.

After looking at a few options, we decided to set up a library in Jason's name for the children at the Meir Hospital Children’s Department.   Servertronix will be donating bookshelves, and I want to give you - my family and friends – the opportunity to sponsor the books that will fill the shelves. Each book will include a label, stating that the book was donated in memory of Jason Bernstein by “name/family”of donor (see Appendix A below), together with a short paragraph in tribute to Jason.

I am very excited about this project. Jason really loved both books and children. This project is dear to my heart, and Meir Hospital could not be a more fitting place to work with: it was where Mika was born, and where Jason was treated with such dedication in his last days.

The ward caters for children up to 18 years old, but we will be focusing mainly on books for up to age 6, in accordance with their needs. Since the books need to be in Hebrew, and I will be working closely with the team at the hospital to choose the best material, a monetary donation from overseas contributors is suggested, and I will take it from there.

The cost of one book is approximately NIS 50 - equivalent to about $15, CAD 15, £8 or R120.  Since it would not be worthwhile for you to send individual donations via bank transfer for such small amounts, contact points in each of the above countries have kindly agreed to coordinate the collections.  So if you would like to contribute a book in Jason's name for this worthy cause, please contact the person listed below from your respective country. Last day for contributions is 31st December 2008.

For Israel, of course, I will be happy to accept your contributions.

Jason died on 7th February 2008, aged 33, from a vicious bacteria that attacked his body. His baby daughter was just 3 weeks old, born here at Meir Hospital. He is forever remembered and cherished by his wife Leanne, daughter Mika, parents Paul and Sharon, brother Richard, family, friends and work colleagues at Servertronix. We miss you, Jay.
