Telfed is all set to welcome the special El Al flight bringing in a group of 100 olim on Monday evening, 21st of July.

This is a special project of the Israel Center in Johannesburg and the Jewish Agency for Israel, which focuses on the idea of group aliyah.  Upon arrival the group will be transported for a two-day welcoming and orientation seminar to a hotel in Jerusalem prior to taking up residence in virtually every part of the country.

The Telfed professional staff, representatives of Telfed's regional committees and matching family partners will be on hand throughout this seminar to facilitate the path to initial absorption and a smooth transition into the beginning of life in Israel.

On Tuesday afternoon, the olim will be officially welcomed by the State of Israel at a ceremony opposite the Western Wall in Jerusalem.  We wish them "bruchim ha'baim" and promise to guide them faithfully through the beginning of a whole new life!

Telfed and the Jewish Agency are trying to provide the new olim with a ‘soft landing’ . They’ll be put up at an hotel in Jerusalem for the first two days. On the 23rd of July (between 9am and 12:30pm), they’ll be meeting people, hearing about Aliya, what they need to do to settle in etc etc. If anyone is interested in going to say hi and reassure them that Israel is the best place to be, please let Dori Braude doribraude@hotmail.com or Ilan Osrin (ilanoz@hotmail.com) know, so that I more details can be provided.

Anyone interested in attending the ceremony at the Kotel, and wanting public transport, please call Tzippi Katz on 09 7446110 (ext 205) tomorrow between 9.00 and 12.00 pm.  Transport will leave the Absorption Center in Ra'anana, make a stop in Modiin and then again at Binyanei Hauma in Jerusalem, on the way to the Kotel and will depart Ra'anana at 13.30 pm.
