Dear Rabbi Moshe Silberhaft,

Herewith just a few words of appreciation for an excellent talk which took place here in Netanya, Israel, on Weds evening 4th Jan 2012 at the Telfed Netanya Regional Committee AGM.

I, and indeed I am sure I speak for all who were present, were amazed at what we heard and saw on the portion of the video you filmed for us.  The hall was not full, and there should have been more of us ex-South Africans now resident here to listen and learn and feel proud of the work you have been doing so selflessly over the African continent, for the well-being of those who remain in outlying places and for those who rest there after their life's sojourn in cemeteries, which would probably have been forgotten and neglected if it were not for the sterling efforts you have put into ensuring their upkeep.

We in Netanya, are an ageing S.A. community.  But we remember our roots well, and talk of them often amongst ourselves, finding connections everywhere in the previous lives we led and feeling the comfort of knowing we have 'landsleit' around us in this tough, wonderful little country where we have chosen to be.  Your many anecdotes, your wonderful work brought smiles to our faces and I personally felt once again imbued with a great love for those days and that land.  Your words brought us all closer to what was once called 'home' and we left knowing there remain there wonderful people, doing special and G-d given work.

Thank you for this, for talking and inspiring on a chilly winter evening which makes us all feel we'd rather be home and warm than venture out into the night air

And thank you too, the organizers of the Telfed Netanya Regional Committee who put this evening together.

P.G 'Be’ezrat Hashem' we will be celebrating an 80th birthday in May and intend to suggest that in lieu of gifts our guests donate to our roots something to help you all on in your sterling efforts.

In appreciation,
June and Bernie Levy
ex Greenside, and Sandton JHB
