The Absorption Ministry says it will go as far as involving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in trying to reinstate two recently canceled programs to assist new immigrant teachers, the ministry's director-general told Anglo File this week. News of the termination of the popular programs infuriated immigrant advocate groups and veteran immigrant teachers, who said this move might seriously hurt current and future immigrants. In light of the initial backlash, the Education Ministry signaled willingness to review the controversial step.
