Philip Braude - Anglo Capital - writes....
The benefits of this new law for new residents and returning residents post 1st January 2007 allows a 10 year exemption on reporting and paying tax on all passive and earned income from outside Israel. This includes pensions, rents, royalties, dividends, capital gains, interest payments, and profits from overseas businesses. These benefits would also extend to qualifying trusts. Returning Israeli citizens who lived abroad for over 5 years, and return during 2007, 2008 & 2009 will be considered new immigrants for the purposes of this law.
Philip Braude, CEO of Anglo Capital Limited, who has monitored the planning, discussing and passing of this law, points out that these changes are a welcome development, and will relieve the tax burden for many new immigrants. He points out that there is still a need for careful financial planning, to ensure that the benefits granted by the new law are obtained.
Anglo Capital Limited specializes in International Wealth Structuring, and has developed tax planning solutions for those who are immigrating, or who have already immigrated, to Israel.
