Prof. Asher Susser addresses Telfed meeting in Kfar Saba

Over 90 people attended the Kfar Saba lecture by Prof. Asher Susser of Tel Aviv University on 16th March at Beit Hastudent. His address on ‘The Gaza War & its Ramification in the Region’ was a brilliant analysis by the world-renowned political commentator on the Middle East. Asher, in his inimitable way, presented it, warts-and-all. Despite the obvious existential concerns, “Israel is still the best place for Jews,” proclaimed Asher. ”By coming on aliyah we may not have chosen the easiest place to live, but we did choose the RIGHT place,” he emphatically exclaimed.

A resident of Kfar Saba, Prof. Susser was one of the founding members of its Telfed Regional Committee.

Chairperson Janine Gelley gave a report on Telfed Kfar Saba’s activities and welcomed new olim to Israel, notably the Zinn family who have moved to Raanana. Telfed editor, Dave Kaplan introduced the speaker and chaired the question & answer session and Hilary Kaplan presented the vote of thanks, presenting Asher with a Keren Aliza Card, a fund managed by the committee, for youngsters with special educational needs in Kfar Saba.

“We raised NIS 2,400 after expenses for our fund,” revealed a jubilant Janine.
