In cooperation with Telfed, a new community initiative has been launched, which assists new immigrants or English speaking people who need to deal with the Hebrew language.  Imagine you are shopping, running errands, etc and have difficulty expressing your needs in Hebrew. In this situation you will probably seek someone who speaks and understands your mother tongue and accordingly request him/her to translate your needs. 

Not everyone is fortunate to detect an English-Hebrew translator on the street. This project was established to assist you on the spot; when encountering such a problem dial 072-247-9605 if you are located in Israel (or 010-500-1986 if you are located in South Africa) and you will be directly connected to a live English-Hebrew translator (volunteer).
 
While using this service you can adjoin an additional person to this call i.e. make a conference call between you, the translator and a third party (such as another person/office). This is done by punching #   then dialing the desired number (including area code for example: 03-5557777) then punching # again. If for instance you need to call a governmental office and you require an interpreter to aid with translation, apply the conference call service.

The added value of connecting with a live interpreter who understands your culture and speaks your language is tremendous as it saves you precious time and avoids frustration.
