Telfed’s PRAS programme celebrated its 9th year of activity within the Southern African community. Students from all over the country were honored at the end of year ceremony that was held at Shivtei Israel Synagogue hall in Ra'anana.
Dana Freidman Katz, finishing the PRAS programme after 4 years told us that even after 4 years she gets emotional when remembering her experiences with the children she has worked with over the past few years.
 The families involved  were extremely grateful to their voluntary students and shared with us their feelings: “she’s like a granddaughter to me”; “I have to receive a PRAS student for next year too”; “He helped my son get through bagrut”.

 The programme offers services such as:
  • Hebrew lessons for new Olim
  •  help with homework and school assignments for pupils (with language and other scholastic or developmental difficulties);
  • big brother/sister to children of single parents
  • assisting lonely and disabled elderly.
PRAS continues to receive positive feedback from both clients and students, year after year. There is tremendous enthusiasm shown from both the recipients in the community and the students alike.
