On the evening of August 26th 2010, with a partial relief from the simmering summer heat, we once again celebrated our Annual Galilee Picnic at Moshav Shorashim.

Over 70 people attended, including children. This year we sorely missed seeing New Olim and we hope to see more Southern Africans making Aliyah to the Galilee region and joining us at next year's picnic.

There were a few stalls set up on the lawn with Arts & Crafts for sale, while Peter of Woodsong from Rosh Pina, set up the stage for his musical performance in the Pergola.

Attendees mingled around in the Pergola meeting new and old friends, while the BBQ crew were busy making the Boerewors. Although a bit smoky, everyone enjoyed the treat of the Boerewors, which made it's way up from MeatLand in Ra'anana.

Maish Isaacson, Telfed's chairman addressed us with information about TelFed and it's important role within the Southern African community in Israel.

I would like to once again thank everyone for their efforts in making this

happen - Telfed, the local Telfed Karmiel regional committee and Chedva from Bayit Beyachad - Jewish Agency Karmiel.

New volunteers are always welcome to contact us and we hope to see those who

attended and many more at our next happening - which will be a new and exciting event.

Best wishes for a Happy and rainy winter.

On behalf of the Telfed Karmiel Regional Committee

Chairman
