Are you an English speaker? Are you thinking about making Aliyah to Israel?  Are you already here and thinking about relocating within Israel? 

Let me guess, everyone has told you to move to Herzlia, Jerusalem, Modi’in or Ra’anana, right?   Or, if you like the big city and you have the money, Tel Aviv.

Before you make a life changing decision, let me, be your guide.  My name is Beryl Schmidt and I am the chairperson of the Telfed Rishon Lezion Regional Committee. I am an English speaker that works closely with many English speakers who have made their home here in Rishon Lezion. We are a group of English speakers who really believe that living in Rishon Lezion is the best way to go.

Rishon Lezion, meaning literally, the "First to Zion", was founded in 1882 and is located along the central Israeli coastal plain next to Holon (the map shows Holon we are east of Holon, 10 minutes from the sea).  We are also the fourth largest city in Israel, 20 minutes southeast of Tel Aviv and 45 minutes (as the crow flies) northwest of Jerusalem.

We are the perfect small town environment inside a big town.  Below are two websites where you can look more deeply into our history and activities.  So, please check us out and then join us as English speakers hoping to make Rishon your new home.
