Advocating for Olim

At a recent event organised by the World Zionist Organisation, Dorron Kline (Telfed CEO) and Mario Lev (Chairman of the Olim Association) met with Israel’s Finance Minister, Avigdor Lieberman.
Dorron and Mario discussed the need for more substantial rental subsidies for New Olim. Minister Lieberman promised that his staff would look into the matter with the Ministry of Housing.

In a recent meeting with Amira Aharonowitz (Director General of the Jewish Agency for Israel) and Shay Felber (Director of the Aliyah and Absorption Unit, and Deputy Director General of the Jewish Agency for Israel), Telfed Chairman Robby Hilkowitz and CEO Dorron Kline discussed the services available to South African and Australian Olim, and the challenges currently facing our Olim.

Discussions included employment, bureaucratic requirements, scholarships and continued cooperation between Telfed and the Jewish Agency for Israel.

 

 

Dorron Kline (Telfed CEO) and Mario Lev (Chairman of the Olim Association) met with Dima Afarchev, the Chairman of Ofek Yisraeli, in his Jerusalem office (pictured right). Ofek Yisraeli is the Aliyah promotion company of the Israel Ministry of Absorption.

Dorron and Mario discussed worldwide Aliyah promotion and the steps needed to reduce the bureaucratic hurdles  for potential Olim.

Besides chairing the Ofek Yisraeli company, Dima is also the mayor of the city of Katzrin in the Golan Heights.

 

 

We express our thanks to Minister of Aliyah and Integration, Pnina Tamano-Shata and her staff for the continued collaboration to better assist South African and Australian Olim. In a recent virtual meeting between MK Pnina Tamano-Shata, Robby Hilkowitz and Dorron Kline, specific bureaucratic challenges facing new Olim were discussed, along with employment and professional licensing, scholarships and strengthening the partnership between Telfed and the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration.
