Madrichim, Jerusalem (October 2023)

A religious Gap Year programme is looking for Madrichim for their +-9 month programme starting Jan 14, 2023

The program is involved with Yeshiva and seminary learning blocks , Ulpan , Kibbutz stay , SAREL volunteering as well as internships and a medical lifestyle program. There is internal and international travel during the year.

Below are the key roles

General task

  • Internal and external travel as and when required
  • Assist with any administration as required
  • Procure quotes as requested
  • Assist with set up of in-house functions
  • Assist with program planning as and when required

Student Engagement

  • Engage with the students daily
  • Travel with students to learning
  • Travel with students to activities as and when required
  • Ensure students are on time for programming
  • Attend unity shabbas meals
  • Accompany students to doctors if required
  • Attend shabbatons as and when required

Internal / Overseas Travel

  • You may or may not be required to travel
  • All travel costs will be covered
  • Accommodation provided will be at the provider’s discretion
  • You may or may not be required to share a room with students

Apartments – To Coordinate with with apartment head

Overall apartment management – Monitor apartments and report any issues or damages

  • Monitor apartment cleanliness – assist students with cleaning roster
  • Ensure appliances are maintained – washing machines, dryers etc
  • Ensure lights and air conditioning is off when students are not in the apartment
  • Assist with moving furniture as and when required

Food / Restocks

  • Ensure snacks are available for programming
  • Ensure food is placed out for all meals
  • Ensure meals are packed away
  • Ensure all food is available unity Shabbas meals
  • Assist with set up for unity meals
  • Ensure meals are put on hot trays and presented appropriately
  • Monitor meal wastage and inform kitchen
  • Assist kitchen with daily tasks or requests – no cooking required
  • All shopping as and when required
  • Monitor food wastage in terms of restock
  • Co-ordinate Friday lunches and 3rd meal with kitchen team

Communication and feedback

  • Feedback to senior staff as and when requested

Requirements

  • Age 20-26
  • Must live in central Jerusalem
  • Full time position
  • Travel with students in Israel and international if required
  • Must be available on Shabbat
  • Valid working visa or TZ
  • Salary discussed after interview
