Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive PR strategy to position Lumen as a leader and innovator in the metabolic health space.
  • Build and nurture relationships with top-tier, consumer and trade media outlets, journalists, and high-profile influencers to ensure consistent and high-quality coverage.
  • Craft compelling press materials, including press releases, media pitches, and executive talking points.
  • Constantly monitor the news, identifying and capitalizing on media opportunities (newsjacking), including trends, thought leadership, and breaking news, to amplify Lumen’s voice.
  • Create an editorial calendar for both seasonal and evergreen pitches.
  • Identify, track, and submit for award and speaking opportunities that position Lumen as a leader and innovator in its field.
  • Oversee crisis communications and reputation management strategies to protect and strengthen Lumen’s public image.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and data teams, to align PR initiatives with broader company goals.
  • Work to build a data dashboard that enables you to pull quantifiable insights at a moment’s notice.
  • Build the profiles of Lumen executives in the press via news opportunities, speaking opportunities, and awards.
  • Create briefing documents for interview opportunities that include a summary of the opportunity and key background info on the outlet and reporter and/or producer.
  • Manage third-party PR agencies as an extension of Lumen’s PR function, ensuring monthly KPIs are met.
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of PR campaigns, using insights to optimize future efforts.
  • Help evolve Lumen’s messaging map annually to align with its broader goals.
  • Represent Lumen at industry events, conferences, and media engagements as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in public relations, with a focus on B2C tech – health tech experience is a strong plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with native English a must.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Proven track record of securing high-impact media coverage and building strong media relationships.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to craft compelling narratives, extract meaningful stories from complex data and research, and identify unique PR opportunities.
  • A proactive, self-starter mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to delivering high-quality results.
