Hi all,
These are certainly very challenging times for all of us here in Israel. Especially as a mother with 2 soldiers on the front line, I am concerned but incredibly proud to live in Israel, our only home.
During these stressful times we are reminded of the beautiful side of Israel and the Jewish nation. Despite incessant rockets, a total stranger brought shwarma to my son and his unit while on active duty, protecting us. Another resident in the south prepared homemade schnitzel for them in case they were hungry. Other Jewish parents are stepping in to look after my children, our children. We are reminded that we are like family.
Being a part of Telfed and our community is a regular reminder of the importance of family and community and I am grateful to have your support and contribution. We can’t take anything for granted these days.
Shavuot is supposed to be a day of great joy, marking the end of the sadness and commemorating the joy of receiving the Torah. Let’s hope that this will be true for us this year too.
As we approach the festival of Shavuot I want to wish you all a Chag Sameach.
Keep safe and healthy,
With warm regards,
Batya
