As we conclude the 2023/2024 academic year, we reflect on a period marked by both challenges and remarkable achievements. Despite the disruptions caused by many of our PRAS students serving in reserve duty (miluim), their dedication to both their studies and community service has been nothing short of inspiring.
This has been a challenging year for our students and, particularly, for our PRAS community.
Telfed’s annual scholarship ceremony was dedicated in memory of Major Dor Zimel Z”L and Captain Yaron Chitiz Z”L.
Highlights from the Year:
- Commitment to Service: This year, 1 in 3 PRAS students balanced their academic responsibilities with military service.
- Supporting Those in Need: Over 50 financial needs scholarship recipients also served in miluim, demonstrating their resilience and dedication.
- SASI (South Africans Studying in Israel) Initiatives:
- A heartwarming Happy Hour at Beit Loewenstein Rehabilitation Hospital where recovering soldiers enjoyed delicious food and the companionship of SASI students.
- A memorable visit to the Latrun Tank Museum, where SASI students learned about military history and paid tribute at the memorial wall featuring Daniel Perez Z’L, with a moving Yizkor recitation by Telfed CEO Dorron Kline.
We are incredibly proud of these young students who go above and beyond, making a meaningful impact on the lives of others. Their actions stand in stark contrast to the behavior of students at universities in other parts of the world, showcasing the positive contributions our youth are making every day.
