With the emotional weight of months of conflict and the recent war with Iran still affecting many of our children, Telfed reached out to two South African Olot and art therapists to create a short term project for Olim children over the summer holiday. These workshops offered a safe and creative outlet to process and express difficult feelings – without needing words.
Workshops catered to three age groups in Raanana, and were expertly led by Dalya Weisbrod throughout the month of July.
In August, we partnered with Natasha Gutman and invited children between the ages of 6 -10 years and 11 – 15 years to participate in the art classes.
One parent shared, “My daughter was excited to try the art workshop after a crazy few weeks of feeling anxious. After each session, there was a noticeable improvement in her mood. We’re so grateful – art therapy wasn’t something we would’ve thought of on our own.”
Another parent extended her thanks for “this extremely needed workshop for the kids,” adding that it gave them an outlet “to express themselves in such a special and unique way.”
A big thank you to everyone who helped make these sessions possible, and especially to the young artists who joined us!
