Telfed’s Jerusalem Regional ended 2022 with dynamic speaker Fleur Hassan Nahoum, Deputy Mayor Jerusalem.
Fleur, a sought after international speaker, is well versed in Jerusalem affairs – demographically, culturally, religiously and economically. She explained the make-up of Jerusalem’s population compared to that of the rest of Israel, with much focus on two major, yet very different segments of the population, Chareidim and Arabs, who together comprise 66% of the capital city’s population.
Continuing, Fleur went on to explain how the Jerusalem municipality as local government is finding short and long term solutions for the future of the city, in areas such as education, employment, housing and transport, to name a few.
After a fascinating presentation, Fleur answered all the questions from members of the audience.
The event took place at the World Mizrachi hall, and was hosted by Telfed’s Jerusalem Regional Chairman, Roy Scher. To conclude the event, Dr. Les Glassman, representing WITS Alumni, thanked Fleur for a most inspiring talk and presented her with a token of thanks.
