PRAS Scholarship Programme

Telfed offers an exceptional scholarship programme for Israeli students. This programme is unique in that volunteering is focused on the klita (absorption) sector, primarily supporting new immigrants to Israel. The weekly interactions between student volunteers and PRAS clients facilitates integration and significantly reduces incidents of failed immigration and absorption.

The standard requirement is for students to volunteer for two hours per week for the duration of the academic year. The students who volunteer with young new Olim become a big brother/sister figure, with emphasis on social integration. Students who volunteer with the elderly or with individuals with special needs become a supportive companion. Telfed staff and PRAS coordinators do their best to match students and clients according to location, student preferences and client needs. Our goal is to create a successful partnership between the students and their clients.
